You may remember growing up in a time when extended family, friends, and neighbors were just as important in raising a child as the parents. A time when if a young person needed guidance all available adults felt compelled to help. For you and many other MT JAVA friends, many years have passed since this philosophy was widely accepted as the norm but there is true value in not forgotting the lessons of the past. Now, you have the opportunity to become a part of the MT JAVA Village Elders Club.

MT JAVA enables you to join with others who have demonstrated a strong passion and support for MT JAVA’s future by naming More Than Just A Village Academy in their estate plans. Anyone who has made a planned gift to MT JAVA and completed a Declaration of Intent is eligible for membership as a MT JAVA Village Elder. There are no fees or minimums required to become a member of the More Than Just A Village Elders Club.

Ways to Make a Planned Gift

MT JAVA Village Elder Club gifts can be made using a variety of planned giving vehicles:

  • bequests through wills and trusts
  • charitable remainder annuity trusts
  • insurance policies
  • gifts of securities
  • gifts of cash

Contact us to learn more about vehicles that you feel may be better suited to your particular financial needs and plans. We accept “unrestricted” gifts and will also be glad to discuss gifts that you want to direct to specific program areas. Our goal is to accurately understand and record the intent of your gifts to MT JAVA. Donation_Services@mtjava.org

Sample Bequest Language

The most commonly used vehicle for making a MT JAVA Village Elder Club donation is a bequest included in a will or trust. Sample bequest language is provided that you may wish to use when working with your attorney or estate planner. You are under no obligation, however, to use this language in order to leave an estate gift to MT JAVA – More Than Just A Village Academy . “I give (the sum, percentage of estate, or description of property) to More Than Just A Village Academy, PO Box 31681, Omaha, NE 68131 to be used for its general unrestricted purposes.” With a separate Memorandum of Agreement, gifts may be designated to benefit existing funds, or (for gifts of $25,000 and above) to create new endowed funds.

Some people give time, some money, some their skills and connections, some literally give their life’s blood. But everyone has something to give.” Richard Whately
